As a follow up to their training with the Learning Schools Programme, Bushmills Primary School with St. Patrick’s and St. Bridgid’s from Ballycastle embarked on a collaborative project crossing all areas of the curriculum and including the educational themes of Cultural Heritage, Education for Mutual Understanding (EMU) and Information, Communication Technology (ICT).  The project is designed for use with Key Stage Two Children, the activities are based on fieldtrips to the seashore and covers all areas of the curriculum incorporating ICT where it improves or enhances a lesson.  The activities allow for differentiation either by task or outcome.  The children apart from the obvious benefits of getting hands on experience of life at the seashore will be working with pupils in their own class, collaborating, discussing, giving opinions, drawing conclusions and also doing the same with children from a different community in an atmosphere of cordiality and friendship.  Through the project we would aim to increase the self-confidence and self esteem of all the children.  We would aim to broaden their horizons and develop their interpersonal and ICT skills.

We hope you find this website useful and take the time to look through all areas, feedback is very important not only to the children but also the teachers involved so we would appreciate any relevant comments and suggestions you wish to e-mail us with.
