We were doing the worksheet about the coast.

We used Encarta to find out about some things.

Groynes, stack and arches are the things we weren’t sure about.

Groynes are vertical manmade structures built across the beach.

A Stack is a pillar of rock, usually on a shore platform.

An Arch is a curve opening in a rock mass. We saw a stack and an arch at Ballycastle beach.
