A was takkin tae Charley yin night.

Ye know Charley, fae Aaron isle,

Broon hair and a big smile.

He lives on spuds and panada.

For you who daenae know,

Milk,breed and praita.

He asked mae did a sing,

So a gien him a wee sang.

The sang was very cheerful,

And it wasnae very lang.

He says tae mae ye are for naethin,

Ye cannae sing attal.

A says tae him ye wudnae know a gid singer if he came

and hut ye in the head.

What daes he know?

Miscalin mae lovely voice,

Nae taste that Charley boy.
